Cyd and George Beacham’s “Son of a Covet” is an amazing
short story about Roman Knox that shows how the lifestyles and characters of
one’s ancestors can affect those of the descendants. In the story, it didn’t matter
whether those lifestyles were public knowledge. Somehow, the same psychological
approach to life got handed down.
Although part of a collection of short stories in “Struck By
Lightning and other bolts of reality”, this story has the impact of a full
length novel. It’s the kind of story that should be made into a short film. I
can hardly wait.
