As if I weren't busy enough...
I've been editing two stories: one for a publisher and the other for a writer's group. In addition to my day job, I participate in as many book events as possible. I'm even in two choirs. So, understand my surprise when a friend asked me if I'd be interested in narrating a play. I politely declined this great opportunity. Maybe next time. There is just so much I can fit into my schedule when my brain keeps creating scenes to stories on a daily basis. Yep, that's my life as a writer.

Remembering Heritage and Love.
It's been a busy year so far. Yesterday, February 16th, I attended the Heritage Cultural Book Fair at Burlington County College in Pemberton, NJ and had the pleasure of seeing/hearing Fannie Lou Hamer as performed by Alma Day. What an absolute pleasure to see history unfold before my eyes!
This followed a week of celebrating love. Red was the color of choice for many in the form of cards, clothes, boxes of chocolates, and, of course, roses. On February 14th, I took a break from editing my teen romance to enjoy time with family. We can all use a break from the busyness of life sometimes.
So, now that the euphoric feelings has calmed a bit, I look toward to diving into that teen romance, intending to make it a novel no one wants to put down - kind of like the last novel I wrote. Stay tuned for more about this story.
Check out my Come Meet Me tab for upcoming events.
Enjoy the rest of February and the diverse world around you.

Happy New Year! I'm on Twitter!
December has been a month filled with extreme happiness and extreme sadness. I'm so grateful to God for helping me through no matter the situation.
So, now a new year has begun and I've finally created twitter [CassandraUlric1] and facebook celebrity [Cassandra Ulrich, Author] pages.
I'm still working consistently on the teen romance, with less than 100 pages of updating left before sending back to the editor. I actually teared up during one of the highly emotional scenes.
That's all for now. Have a great day.

I signed my third book contract!
Yesterday, I signed a contract with Keith Publications. I am super excited to work on publishing another story. It's going to be interesting editing two manuscripts at the same time. This is going to be some ride.

Exciting Happenings!
So, I've been busy working on improving the teen romance. It's funny how a writer continues to create even during the editing phase. I am totally enjoying the process.
Last Monday, I received super news. I got a contract for yet another manuscript. The happiness I experienced trumped the previous rejections for this manuscript. Sneak peek: It's a story involving a female billiards shark.
This is my third contract and the biggest lesson I've learned on the business side of creativity is an author must read every word whether or not a lawyer reads it. Sometimes they miss errors too.
With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, I am foremost grateful to God for good health and the family and friends who surround me. Next, I'm thankful for a job as many are struggling this holiday season. Lastly, I appreciate the gift of writing and the enjoyment it brings to others.

Book signing in Philly!
So, off to North Philadelphia I drove for my first book signing event in PA at Black and Nobel. I enjoyed meeting and speaking with many who walked into the store. So far, my novel has gotten a warm reception by the owner of the bookstore and others who've seen my novel elsewhere. I'm excited to see how A Beautiful Girl takes off there.
I really enjoyed my conversations with the owner's little girl who rode her new scooter in the store. What fun!
